Downtown Chambersburg Inc. (DCI) is thrilled to bring back the Downtown Dollars giveaway for its third year on Small Business Saturday, November 30, 2024. The event celebrates local businesses with over $3,000 in Downtown Dollars ready to be given away, thanks to presenting sponsors F&M Trust and the Downtown Business Council.
To participate, shoppers need to present a receipt dated November 30, 2024, for a $25 or more purchase at a participating downtown business. Receipts will be collected in front of the County Courthouse from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with participants eligible to win vouchers worth $10, $20, or $50. The event not only supports local shopping but also aligns with DCI’s mission to boost economic development in Chambersburg.
Local business owners are enthusiastic about the day. Kyla Symonds, co-owner of Hammer & Stain, describes the event as a moment of connection and celebration for the community. “Meeting new people and connecting with returning customers recharges us to keep on keeping on. We can’t wait to see you!” she shares.
Brittany Cocola, coordinator for the Downtown Business Council, highlights the transformative power of the event. “Small Business Saturday rewards customers who choose to spend their hard-earned income in locally owned shops and restaurants. It’s a day that instills hometown pride and demonstrates the growth of our central business district,” she says.
For F&M Trust, the event is an opportunity to foster community connections. Casey Helm, the bank’s marketing coordinator, notes, “By sponsoring Small Business Saturday, we actively support local businesses and uplift the communities we serve. This event always fosters a wonderful sense of togetherness.”
DCI president Sam Thrush emphasizes the importance of supporting local businesses. “Small Business Saturday is one of our favorite ways to support our local downtown businesses. These businesses are a mainstay of our economic vibrancy and community.”
