CHAMBERSBURG, PA – The Foundry Artist Cooperative, located at 100 South Main Street, Chambersburg, invites regional artists to participate in their Artist Challenge on Saturday October 17 from 10am-12noon. Artists will have two hours in which to complete a project in the medium of their choice, in the midst of Chambersburg’s AppleFest, after which all projects will be displayed in the gallery through November 30, and raffled off to benefit the community-based art projects of the Foundry. There is no fee to participate, and artists will be eligible for prizes that include a free year’s membership in the Foundry. The Challenge creations will be on view in the Foundry October 18 through November 29 during regular retail hours Fridays through Sundays 11am-3pm. Home to an eclectic mix of handmade works by artists from around the Cumberland Valley, the Foundry houses a retail shop where guests can purchase unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that are made locally, view rotating exhibits featuring the work of artists both local & regional, and learn new techniques or have a fun evening with friends by attending a painting class.
