CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The owner of three area Your CBD Stores hopes to boost his customers’ well-being and give them relief from pain.
“Helping people is what it’s all about,” said Tobi Brechbiel, 46, of Chambersburg.
Since the end of 2018, he has opened stores in Chambersburg, Camp Hill, Pa., and Hagerstown, Md. In February, Brechbiel moved his store from 875 Lincoln Way West to 54 Lincoln Way West.
Brechbiel sold vacuum cleaners for the Kirby Co. door to door for 24 years, then, two years ago, a friend told him how promising a career in CBD sales could be.
“This is going to be a good thing,” his friend said.
Your CBD Store provides products containing cannabinoids, a set of compounds found in industrial hemp, a cousin of the marijuana plant. While CBD is one of hundreds of components of marijuana, by itself, it does not cause a “high.”
Among the items sold at the stores are hemp oil; oral products, edibles such as gummy rings in watermelon and peach flavors, plus vegan varieties; water solubles that can be added to foods and liquids; skin-care products such as bath bombs, collagen creams and lip balm; topical creams; and books. There are even CBD goods for animals. Prices range from $10 to $300.
“You can take it, your pets can take it,” Brechbiel said.
He said many of his customers are tired of being in pain, something to which he can relate. He has had nine concussions in his lifetime, and broke his neck and back when he was 19 after falling 27 feet from scaffolding, head first.
He controlled his discomfort only with prayer until he tried CBD, which he said can help ease any kind of pain.
“Now, both combined, it makes it pretty nice,” Brechbiel said.
Brechbiel says CBD products are used to treat various health issues, including severe pain, Lyme disease and fibromyalgia. Some use them for general well-being. People take CBD products once a day or several times a day, depending on their needs. To start, Brechbeil recommends people take 1 milligram of CBD for every 10 kilograms of body weight (approximately 22 pounds).
The merchandise sold at Your CBD Store comes from SunMed. The hemp plants are grown in Colorado, then sent to Florida for processing. To ensure quality and safety, they are tested five times before production, then two more times afterward. The company works with chemistry teams and 14 doctors to stay up-to-date on new developments and regulations.
Brechbiel said Your CBD Store is the largest retailer of CBD products in the world, with more than 600 brick-and-mortar stores across the globe, including every state in America, plus Brazil and Britain. There were 21 stores in 2017, and now there are more than 600.
Between his three area stores, Brechbiel has two employees. He floats between the locations, wherever he is needed, and delivers products for free when asked. He prides himself in responding in minutes to all inquiries made on his stores’ social-media platforms, and can also assist anyone via telephone or direct messaging.
It was important for Brechbiel to open all of his stores in the hearts of the towns he chose.
“I want to be downtown,” said Brechbiel, a proud American who is tired of watching towns suffering because businesses are moving to the outskirts.
“Everyone is given a personal experience. Everyone is treated like a human being,” Brechbiel said.
